After their adoption, Hopey and Alicia's mom wrote:

My boyfriend Joel and I adopted Hopey(the kitty on the horse) and Alicia from Kitty Cottage in June, 2002, in honor of our beloved kitty Putty who had just passed away. They fill our lives with joy and love and laughter every day. They are also very good sisters (they're littermates, even though they don't look alike). They always run to one another if one of them cries, and they even help each other through asthma attacks. Hopey is a medical pioneer. She's the first cat in our vet's large practice to use a new treatment for asthma with inhaled steroids taken through a special cat mask. Word about her has already spread to other local vets, and her success will help many asthmatic cats avoid oral steroids and the serious side effects that can accompany their prolonged use! We are so grateful to Kitty Cottage for our wonderful, beloved babies!
