Jack
After his adoption, Jack's new mom wrote: Hi Everyone, I wanted to follow up and give you an update on Jack, whom I adopted on May 23, 2003. I absolutely love him!! When I first brought him home, he scampered into my basement and hid there for several hours. With a bit of patience (and some food & water), I managed to coax him out of hiding. I initially tried to introduce he and my other cat, Sushi (my 'older model' 17 year old kitty) gradually, but Jack wouldn't have any of that. He jumped clear over the screened gate I was using to separate them, and made his own introduction. After some minor hissage from Sushi at first, in a few days they seem to be getting along just fine. Jack still likes to hide sometimes when he sleeps during the day (and at night). He is very playful for a 6 year old, and I can hardly believe how high he can jump! He's also a genuine lap cat...I love the way his little tongue sticks out of his mouth slightly when he's finally kneaded a nice soft spot into your lap. I tell everyone I can about how great the Cottage is, and what wonderful cats you have. Several people I work with have either been to or are interested in checking out your place. One woman I spoke to here at work likes to visit sometimes on her lunch hour, because she finds being with the cats very soothing. Thanks so much for allowing me to adopt Jack...he is really a wonderful addition to our family!! |
