Simba & Mosby Simba's and Mosby's parents wrote recently to say: We came to the Kitty Cottage in June looking to adapt two laid-back
adult cats. Dixie spent time with us and recommended Mosby & Simba,
who joined our family on Father's Day.
Mosby is the more easy-going of the two. We learned at the cottage that he didn't like to be picked up, but he will come and sit in your lap for long visits, and likes to stand in front of the computer monitor and head butt your hand on the mouse. Mosby rarely makes a fuss, but will say "yow" if you try and pick him up. For the first couple months he mostly lounged in our second floor by himself, but now likes to spend most of his time in the same rooms with us. Simba, on the other hand, loves attention. He loves to lounge on the bed, chairs, in boxes of every size, and inside paper bags. He loves to be picked up and carried around the room, but won't sit in your lap. He will also go to where his brush is kept and waits to be brushed, and he is never happy when you stop brushing him! The cottage told us he loved to drink from their faucet, and this is still his favorite activity! Simba meows for his faucet drink as soon as the alarm goes off in the morning, when we come home from work, and before bedtime. He is very jealous when Mosby is getting attention - he will scowl at us and thump his tail loudly against something to show his displeasure! He sometimes acts like the tough street cat from his days as a stray, but is really a loveable big baby! While they do not play together, they usually get along with (or at least tolerate) each other. They both enjoy taking turns sitting on their shared Kitty Cottage scratching post looking out the window, and both like to sleep on the bed at least part of the night and to be there in the morning to greet us! They always keep an eye on what the other one is up to! It is fun to have two cats with individual personalities and to watch them interact. Both cats have settled in to their new home and have trained us well to meet their needs. We thank the Kitty Cottage for the service they provide and for helping us find such loveable pets! |
