My Cleo was adopted in April. She has been such a joy! She is a little shy and tends to tip-toe around the house (as if asking for permission to explore). In spite of her 9 years, she has a lot of kitten in her. This month I threw her a “kitty shower” and she got lots of new toys. We even had balloons and ‘hello kitty’ decorations. Every morning (even Sundays) she wakes me up to play with the wrinkles in the sheets. Then she will crawl under the bed to fetch her toy mice or feather toys. She brings them up on the bed and bats them around. She doesn’t realize mommy likes to sleep a little longer, but I don’t discourage her exercise and playtime. At night when Cleo wants to go to sleep she meows until I come to bed where she likes to settle against my pillow. She tends to wake me every couple of hours just to make sure I’m “still there”. I give her a little pat, say “good girl” and she lies back down. I think she needs a lot of reassurance, but I always tell her she is wanted and very much loved. I think I’m the lucky one. Cleo is such a nice companion and I thank the Kitty Cottage for trusting me to give her a good home.
