Hi all, I just
wanted to update you on Skittles (formerly
Katie), adopted in May 2006. While still
living up to her new moniker (she is a bit
skittish!), she has adjusted fabulously to
life with me and her "big sister", Spooky
(see a trend here?). Most recently,
Skittles has deigned to let me pet her (with
only a little flinching) while she
is resting in her favorite spot--the best
chair in the house, of course. She and
Spooky get along like littermates and I am
so pleased to have her as company for us
both. As I keep reminding her, I plan to
have her around for quite some time and am
patient enough to let her dictate our
relationship on her terms. She has filled
out quite nicely to a beautiful grey tabby
and is constantly getting complements from
visitors. In contrast to my concerns from
her former Philly dock/street living, she
has shown no real inclination to go outside,
but does continue to insist (along with
Spooky) that she would love, Love, LOVE to
have a birdie around to play with. I keep
refilling the birdfeeders outside the window
and letting them have their own "Cat TV"
instead.
Thanks again for
all the help from Kitty Cottage and the
Philadelphia Trap, Neuter, Release (or
domesticate, in Skittles' case!) program.
You folks do a wonderful job!
